The MLB Player’s Association has informed the MLB players they will report July 1 for spring training, with July 24 being Opening Day, per Jim Bowden of The Athletic and CBS Sports. The 60-game season that the MLB and owners offered yesterday will take place in 66 days.
Health and safety protocols will continue to be updated as training continues. This is fantastic news considering many fans were starting to believe there wouldn’t be a 2020 MLB season. That said, among the crazy circumstances and events that have made up the year thus far, we will have baseball in 2020.
Per Karl Ravech, the deal is now 100% done.
As Ravech said, the deal is done, game on! Baseball returns officially on July 1 with spring training 2.0 and official play on July 24. Mark your calendars baseball fans.
