BREAKING: Chicago Dogs to Play 2020 Home Games at Impact Field

The Chicago Dogs will be able to play their 2020 home games at their home stadium as Illinois moves into Phase 4 of reopening.

The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball will begin its 2020 season on July 3rd. It had been originally announced that the league would have six teams playing out of three hub sites, with the Chicago Dogs playing out of Milwaukee at the Milkmen home stadium. On the heels of the city of Chicago moving into Phase 4 of reopening, it was announced today that the Chicago Dogs will be an additional hub and play their home games out of Impact Field.

With the recent announcement of the return of the MLB season, it makes for quite a bit of good baseball news when there had been nothing remotely positive about the sport for what seemed like eons.

The news that the Chicago Dogs will be able to have fans in the stands throughout the season is also fantastic news. While the state of Illinois is moving to Phase 4 and that allows for outdoor venues to operate at 20% of capacity, Chicago’s Mayor Lightfoot has announced that, at least for the immediate future, the Chicago stadiums will not open to the public when play does resume.
