White Sox, Jared Kelley Agree to Deal

The White Sox and second-round draft pick Jared Kelley have agreed on a deal.

With their second-round pick in the 2020 draft, the White Sox selected Jared Kelley, a right-handed pitcher from Refugio High School in Texas. Today Fox Kelley and the club have agreed to a contract.

The slot value was $1.5 million and Kelley signed for twice that value, so this move definitely infers that later picks will be making below slot value or not sign at all.

After drafting Kelley, the White Sox selected pitchers Adisyn Coffey, Kade Mechals, and Bailey Horn in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds, respectively. White Sox fans will have to wait and see which direction the organization decides to go regarding those players.
