As the MLB deadline for Summer Camp rosters came and went, the Cubs finally disclosed their Summer Camp roster, adding 50 players of a possible 60 to the list.

It is worth noting that a number of top prospects have made the Summer Camp roster. Names such as Brennan Davis, Miguel Amaya, and Brailyn Marquez have made the roster to participate in South Bend.

One named left off the 39-player list for Wrigley Field was Adbert Alzolay. Many people believed Alzolay would compete for the fifth spot before the season. It seems like the Cubs will be patient with the young pitcher for 2020, assigning him to the South Bend group rather than the Wrigley Field group.

Players who are on the taxi squad aren’t totally lost for the season, as they can be promoted to a playoff roster for example, but it is likely that these guys will continue developing rather than making an impact on the major league roster in 2020.
