This headline may confuse you a bit. Anthony Rizzo is the lifeblood of the Chicago Cubs. The man has played in 140+ games every single year since 2013.
The news of Rizzo playing comes on the heels of this news coming out of our nation’s capital.
With safety and health concerns being at the top of every player’s mind these days, expect to see a few more announcements like this in the coming weeks. Mike Leake of the Arizona Diamondbacks has announced he will sit out the 2020 season. The Minnesota Twins will not be allowing two of their coaches over 65 years of age to work games this season.
Players are able to opt out of this season should they please due to health concerns.
Anthony Rizzo will not be one of those players.
Cubs fans will certainly be wishing Anthony Rizzo nothing but success and health in the 2020 season, as they all look forward to seeing the captain man first base for the Chicago Cubs.
