Minor League Baseball has officially announced there will be no 2020 season, in wake of the MLB season starting soon.
This is a sad day for the game because of the entertainment factor lost that is minor league baseball, along with the players losing gameplay for the 2020 season. It’s understandable given the magnitude of a global pandemic. Unfortunately, since MLB teams pay minor leaguer salaries, some have not committed to paying these players for the entirety of the season, notably the Oakland A’s. Every player in these systems should be paid, even with the announcement of the MLB cutting minor league teams. It is the right thing to do for athletes who already make below minimum wage.
