Charlie Daniels Passes Away at Age 83
Country music legend Charlie Daniels passed away at the age 83.
Charlie Daniels died Monday morning after suffering from a stroke. While Daniels’ career spans over six decades, he is most widely known for his 1979 smash hit The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
Daniels was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and son, Charlie Daniels Jr.
If you are a fan of his music, or especially if you’ve never heard/seen him play there are numerous videos on Youtube showing people reacting to this song and his fiddle skills for the first time. I couldn’t recommend that deep dive more.
