News broke this morning that Cubs manager David Ross and five other “tier one” personnel members are sitting out today’s workouts as they await more clarity on their COVID-19 test results from this weekend.
As the statement indicates at the end, this isn’t a concern of a positive test, according to the Cubs. That is good news for David Ross and company, but it doesn’t hurt for these six individuals to be smart and simply take a maintenance day for sake of the player’s and other personnel member’s health and safety.
Assuming these tests come back negative, the crew in question will likely return to team activities tomorrow. However, there is always a chance that a positive test comes back and changes the news cycle from the Cubs’ PR department.
