The Chicago Cubs have officially announced their Opening Day 30-man roster.
There is no surprise to who is on this roster list. Many, including myself, may be wondering why Adbert Alzolay isn’t included in this group, but he has been on the South Bend taxi squad roster since players reported to camp earlier this month. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him at Wrigley Field at some point this season.
With that said, the roster will gradually decrease to a 28-man roster on the 15th day of the season and down to 26 by the 29th day of the season. Once it’s down to 26, the rosters will remain at that number for the rest of the season and postseason.
