MLB Gambling Picks – 8/11/20
Get the MLB gambling juices flowing with these 3 betting picks for tonight’s action.
It was a tough weekend, I went 7-1 in MLB gambling picks between Sunday and Monday. Let’s keep that train rolling tonight.
Reds vs. Royals
Kris Bubic has started against both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox with pretty similar outings. Castillo had an outlier on July 31st when he gave up five runs, which is uncharacteristic of him. However, he quickly bounced back. I expect this line to move more in the direction of the Royals, so you could even get a better number than what we have here, but the Reds had a solid series against the Brewers. This is, I believe, more indicative of the rest of their season. The Royals swept the Twins. That, my friends, is called overachieving. They have some depth in the bullpen, but I don’t expect the starting pitching success to last. Take the Reds.
Pick: Reds -173
Indians vs. Cubs
The Cubs are coming off a weekend without baseball as they were supposed to face the Cardinals, who still haven’t been cleared to return to play. However, Cleveland is now missing Zach Plesac and Mike Clevinger because they had a night on the town last Saturday when they played the White Sox in Chicago. The Cubs caught a break here with a short-handed rotation. Lester hasn’t historically done too well with the Cleveland lineup (i.e. 2016 World Series), but I think the bullpen will be rested as well as the bats. Adam Plutko starts for the Tribe in place of Clevinger, and lefties have slugged .542 off of him in his career. Look for a big day from Ian Happ and Anthony Rizzo. The Indians also only have a .610 team OPS, which is second to last to only the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cubs will be fine in this game.
Pick: Cubs -113
Rangers vs. Mariners
In 127 plate appearances against the current Rangers squad, Marco Gonzales sports a .352 xwOBA, which isn’t very good. The Rangers will trot out Mike Minor, who has obviously struggled this season. Both of these teams have a team OPS under .700. The Rangers have had a bit more success against lefties than righties in this shortened season as well. I assume the pitchers will dominate early on, but look for the Rangers to squeak out a close one at home.
Pick: Rangers -130
