
The Chicago White Sox have promoted outfielder Luis Gonzalez from the Schaumberg taxi squad to the MLB roster from the before their four-game series with the Detroit Tigers tonight.
The White Sox selected Gonzalez in the third round of the 2017 MLB Draft. He slashed .247/.316/.359 for the AA Birmingham Barons in 2019.
Gonzalez will be taking Adam Engel’s spot on the roster for the time being. According to James Fegan of The Athletic, Engel may have come in contact with someone who was infected with COVID-19, though the White Sox outfielder has not tested positive himself.
