Chicago White Sox center fielder Luis Robert left Tuesday night’s contest against the Detroit Tigers with an apparent hand injury. During the top of the 7th inning, Robert dove for a fly ball in left center field, landing on his throwing hand in the process. While he was not immediately removed from the game, Robert seemed to be in quite a bit of pain after the landing. He was replaced in the top of the 8th by recent taxi squad call up Luis Gonzalez.

After the game, the White Sox official Twitter account released a statement, stating that the X-rays came back negative and that Robert is currently listed as ‘day-to-day’. Hopefully, this a sign that an IL trip will not be required.
