The Chicago White Sox have activated rookie second baseman Nick Madrigal from the injured list. To make room for him on the roster, the team has optioned catcher Zack Collins to Schaumberg.
Madrigal has been sidelined since August 4th when he sustained a dislocated shoulder while sliding into third base in a game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The former fourth overall draft pick slashed .294/.333/.627 with one RBI in just five games with the White Sox before sustaining the shoulder injury. He will be with the big league club for tonight’s contest against the Kansas City Royals.
