Yu Darvish has won the National League Pitcher of the Month Award for the month of August.

Darvish was spectacular this past month, winning all five of his starts with an ERA of 1.09. His ERA for the season is currently at 1.47, which is second-best in the majors behind AL Cy Young-leading candidate Shane Bieber.

Darvish’s location has also been sublime. He walked only seven batters in August and ranks fifth in strikeout/walk ratio at 6.5 for the entire season.

Last, but certainly not least, Darvish’s numbers have been instrumental to a ballclub that has scuffled as of late, especially at the plate. Darvish ranks fourth among all pitchers in baseball with 2.1 WAR.

With less than half of the season left to play, Yu Darvish certainly is a leading candidate for the National League Cy Young Award.
