NFL DFS Week 1: Locks, Values, and the #CrackUm Player of the Week

Get your DFS picks for all of the NFL Week One action.

The NFL is finally back. It has seemed like a lifetime ago since the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl. It could be the fact that we have had no real ramp-up to the season since there was a lack of attendance at training camps and a full cancellation of the preseason. The start to this season could be sloppy, and that could lead to some crazy games overall. So, get ready for some fun games and enjoy the season.

Quarterback

Lock: Russell Wilson (FD:$8.4K/DK:$7.0K) – It is time to “Let Russ Cook”. This is a great match up to start the season. They will be in a dome with no weather implications, so that should help out both teams. This will be a back and forth contest as well when Seattle takes on Atlanta.

Value: Philip Rivers (FD:$7.1K/DK:$6.0K) – After what seems like a lifetime in San Diego/Los Angeles, Rivers is now on a new team. The Colts have an easy opening game against a Jaguars team that is looking towards the future already. With tons of new weapons, this offense should be able to put a good amount of points on the poor Jaguars defense.

Running Back

Lock: Josh Jacobs (FD:$8.2K/DK:$6.8K) – The second year pro is looking for a fast start to the year against a defense that was at the bottom of the league last season against the run. The Panthers are going to still struggle in that department, especially early on in the season.

Value: Ronald Jones II (FD:$5.7K/DK:$5.2K) – With one addition this offseason, most of the Buccaneers value went sky high. Tom Brady raised everyone’s stock in Tampa, but sometimes a team can have too many weapons. However, Jones has some early season value, but he will lose a little steam after week one with Leonard Fournette signing in Tampa. However, in this first game Jones should get majority of the work.

Wide Receiver

Lock: Davante Adams (FD:$8.0K/DK:$7.3K) – Nothing has really changed in the Packers offense, so Adams is still the only reliable target for Rodgers. They will be facing a Vikings secondary that is slightly thin this season.

Value: T.Y. Hilton (FD:$6.4K/DK:$5.8K) – Rivers will need to find a new favorite target now that he’s in Indianapolis. Hilton will for sure be that guy this week against a very weak Jaguars secondary. This will be a great game for these two to build their chemistry.

Tight End

Lock: Zach Ertz (FD:$6.6K/DK:$5.8K) – The Eagles are very thin to start the season at receiver. That said, Wentz will have to rely on his trusty target from the last few years. They are going up against a defense in Washington who will likely remain at the bottom of the league again this year.

Value: Jimmy Graham (FD:$5.0K/DK:$3.8K) – The Bears offense is better when they actually have a real tight end in this offense. Now they have a reliable option in Graham and a rookie in Cole Kmet who’s learning from the seasoned vet. The Bears’ system mirrors that of Kansas City and Philadelphia, so it could be a great play taking Graham as a value option since the Chicago/KC/Philly system thrives when the tight end is a major part of the game plan.

DJ Moore (FD:$7.1K/DK:$6.6K) – Some people might be worried about Moore having a new quarterback throwing to him this season. Do not worry though, Bridgewater will fall in love with Moore and they will be a great combo in several games this year. They will be playing from behind most weeks which will help increase his workload. McCaffrey will be the only real threat to take any work away from him. This week the Panthers face a Raiders defense who is below average, at best. This matchup should give him a chance at plenty of work.
