Bears WR Allen Robinson, 27, has reportedly requested the Bears to trade him.
Robinson has been disgruntled and has finally made his discomfort public. The Bears have given extensions to a lot of other big name players, except Robinson.
This news comes right after week one of the 2020 NFL season. The Bears played the Lions and won in a 17-point fourth quarter comeback. Robinson played a vital part in said comeback, having big catches to continue those drives late in the game.
Robinson is undoubtedly the WR1 in Chicago. He has been the only stable receiver for the Bears since he joined the organization. Robinson led the team in receiving yards last season by a wide margin.
The team will need to make a decision if they want to try and mend their relationship or part ways with the star receiver.
UPDATE – 9/15/20, 6:18 PM: Adam Schefter took to Twitter after the initial reports surfaced to clear up some details. According to Robinson’s agent, Brandon Parker, the star wideout has not requested a trade.
Schefter adds that Robinson is dissastisfied with the way negotiations have been going with the team, however.
