The Chicago White Sox shuffled a few pitchers on their roster this morning. The club reinstated LHP Jace Fry from the ten-day injured list and optioned LHP Bernardo Flores Jr. to the Schaumberg taxi squad.
Fry landed on the injured list on September 5th because he was dealing with back spasms. The lefty touts a 3.65 ERA over 12.1 innings in 13 games during the 2020 campaign.
Flores Jr. appeared in just two games for the White Sox during his time on the big league roster. Allowing two earned runs in a small sample size of just two innings ballooned his ERA to 9.00.
Replacing Flores Jr., a rookie, with a fourth-year reliever in Fry should expand White Sox skipper Ricky Renteria’s bullpen options a bit more, especially in the absence of lockdown setup man Aaron Bummer.
