In a city full of star power among athletes, nobody can get a crowd going in Chicago quite like Jim Cornelison. Cornelison is the regular National Anthem singer for the Chicago Blackhawks and often makes appearances for high-stakes Bears games.

As the Bears kick off their first home game of 2020, Cornelison will be in the building to sing the Anthem. Cornelison has a nice history with Soldier Field.

In 2011, Cornelison sang the National Anthem at Soldier Field on the ten-year anniversary of 9/11. He also led off the NFC Championship Game the previous season vs. the Green Bay Packers. Most recently, Cornelison sent Soldier Field into a frenzy ahead of the Bears vs. Eagles Wild Card playoff game two seasons ago.

This will be a unique experience for Cornelison however, as Soldier Field will be empty on Sunday as the New York Giants come to town. What will Big Jim’s Anthem sound like without thousands of Chicagoans going nuts in the background? Time will tell.
