Huge news has broken out of the Chicago Bulls organization this afternoon. The Bulls have officially hired Billy Donovan to be their next head coach.

In five seasons as an NBA head coach with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Donovan coached his team to a 243-157 record and helped the team to five straight playoff appearances.

Donovan has drawn praise from his former players while he coached at Florida for almost 20 years. Joakim Noah and Bradley Beal were vocal about Donovan’s leadership with a young team and his basketball mind.

It was rumored the Bulls had an interest in Donovan a few weeks ago. With the news finally breaking that he has accepted a job, the franchise can finally move in a positive direction.

Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley brought in an experienced, winning coach to move this team into the future. The new front office is already making different strides than the old regime did by hiring rookie head coaches any chance they had. This is an exciting time to be following this team and the future looks bright.
