
The Chicago White Sox have officially canceled SoxFest 2021 due to coronavirus concerns.
The annual winter festival was scheduled to take place on January 22-23, 2021 at McCormick Place in Chicago. It would have been the second year of SoxFest at the new location. The event previously took place at the Hilton Chicago.
While not surprising, it will be a bit disappointing for fans who look forward to SoxFest to inject some baseball vibes into the dead of winter. With the team’s vast improvement in 2020, excitement would have been at a level not seen in years.
In the absence of SoxFest, the team plans to announce updates regarding virtual programming in the near future.
The club will do what it can to keep fans engaged throughout the offseason, but it won’t be able to top SoxFest moments like this:
