The Chicago White Sox have added another bullpen arm back to the mix. Ahead of today’s series opener against the Cubs, the club reinstated RHP Evan Marshall from the injured list and optioned RHP Jose Ruiz to the Schaumberg taxi squad.
Marshall landed on the injured list on September 18th (retroactive to the 15th) due to right shoulder inflammation. He holds a 2-1 record and 2.49 ERA in 21.2 innings over 22 games in 2020.
Jose Ruiz will head back to Schaumberg for the second time this season. The righty touts a 2.25 ERA in four innings over five games this season.
The White Sox will likely use Marshall at least once this weekend to get him back into the swing of things before the playoffs begin next week.
