The Chicago Blackhawks have made their first trade of the 2020-21 offseason. The deal sends Dylan Sikura to the Las Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Brandon Pirri.
Pirri was once touted as a future second-line center behind Jonathan Toews in the Blackhawks organization after the team drafted him 59th overall in 2009. The Hawks traded him to the Florida Panthers during the 2013-14 season in exchange for third-round and fifth-round draft picks. After his stint in Florida, Pirri played nine games for the Ducks in 2015-16 and spent the 2016-17 season with the New York Rangers before becoming a member of the Vegas Golden Knights.
Sikura, who is heading to Vegas, appeared in a total of 47 games in a Blackhawks sweater while only finding the back of the net once.
