The White Sox have officially announced their 28-man roster for the Wild Card Round ahead of their first postseason appearance since 2008.
One notable addition is utility man, Leury Garcia. The club reinstated him from the injured list and designated reliever Alex McRae for assignment.
Garcia certainly gives manager Ricky Renteria a more fortified outfield. That position group has been otherwise short-handed since Garcia went down with a hand injury after diving into first base over a month ago.
The White Sox also added Zack Collins to the roster a third catcher, which gives them the option to plug both James McCann and Yasmani Grandal in a starting lineup. The South Siders will embark on their first postseason contest in 12 years today at 2 PM CT. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
