BREAKING: Cubs/Marlins Game Postponed to Friday Due to Weather
Approaching rain on Thursday has moved the Cubs/Marlins Game Two to Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
As rain moves into the Chicagoland area on Thursday afternoon, the MLB decided to postpone Thursday’s game two of the Wild Card Series between the Cubs and Marlins. Game two is now scheduled for 1:00 PM CDT on Friday, October 2nd.
As noted, game three will be Saturday if it is necessary. Wednesday saw the Cubs blow a 1–0 lead in the seventh inning against the Miami Marlins, leading to a quick 1-0 deficit in the Wild Card Round.
It’s also safe to say the Cubs On Tap crew, and all Cubs fans are feeling the anxiety build as they wait yet another day for what could be the Cubs’ last game of the 2020 season.
It will also be intriguing to see what this means for the players. Yu Darvish is already working on considerably longer rest than he’s used to. We saw what extra rest did for Kyle Hendricks yesterday, as he was not nearly as sharp as he usually is.
As both teams and the fans wait an additional 24 hours for game two, all groups mentioned will be wondering what is in store for Friday afternoon.
