The NFL had another round of COVID-19 testing come back mostly successful until today when Patriots’ quarterback Cam Newton tested positive for the virus.
Patriots’ QB Cam Newton tested positive and is out for Sunday’s game vs. Kansas City, per @FieldYates and me.
As of now, the Saturday morning of October 3rd, no further tests have come back positive. Nonetheless, the New England Patriots are being extremely cautious and released the following statement:
Minutes after the New England statement was released, the NFL postponed the Patriots game against the Chiefs. Adam Schefter reports that the game will now most likely take place on Tuesday of next week.
Now sounding like, Tuesday Night Football, Patriots at Chiefs.
Obviously, the health and safety of all players and team personnel are the most important things to consider. But what kind of impact will this have on fantasy football leagues? What should you do as an owner?

If you have Cam Newton on your roster with no backup on the bench, then obviously you’ll want to grab Brian Hoyer as quickly as possible. Furthermore, if you have the ability to drop some players and create space then it might be beneficial to get a third quarterback from the litter of whoever is left un-rostered. Think of Carson Wentz, who has easily been the worst quarterback in the NFL thus far. He’ll probably be available for you in crunch time.
