I let you, the readers, down last week. Although there wasn’t an article, we had three picks that I tweeted, as you can see here:
I ultimately added New York Giants +13.5 and Bears on the moneyline. Obviously the Bears lost, and Detroit and Jacksonville spit in my face. However, the Giants and Browns (who would have thought) came through in the clutch. We were 2-3 last week and 3-2 the week before. Nothing like being .500 going into Week 5.
As promised, here are my three bets for Week 5 NFL action!
Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons
Ah yes, the 0-4 Falcons play host to the new-look Carolina Panthers. After a tough start to their season, Carolina is 2-2 after four weeks. For some reason, Atlanta just can’t do enough to win games this year. They aren’t getting the job done, and with that said, I think the Panthers have a shot.
The Panthers are the projected underdogs in this game, but the line looks way too good not to take. My resource shows the line as +110 Carolina, but if you can find it for better, then take it. As long as the Panthers are underdogs, I like a little money on them even if Atlanta gets their first win.
Pick: Carolina +110
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
Let’s be honest, the Cowboys should be 0-4 after narrowly escaping the Falcons with the famous onside kick in Week 2 of the season. They may be one of the most overrated teams in the NFL this season. The Giants are +9 dogs in this game and I’ll tell you what, I think that’s way too high. The Giants were +13.5 against the Rams and covered with no problem. I think the Giants do that again this week.
The key to his matchup is where you can get the line. If you can get better than 7, then hammer it. If not, say the line is at 7 or under, then I’d avoid this game. But based on what I’m seeing, +9 is a good play.
Pick: Giants +9
Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson is an early MVP candidate, having thrown more than four touchdowns in three out of four weeks this season. Oh, it doesn’t hurt to mention the Seahawks are 4-0.
The Vikings, on the other hand, are really struggling. Justin Jefferson is finally emerging as an option opposite of Adam Thielen, but that team is in shambles at 1-3. I’m going to keep this one short and sweet… the fact that the Seahawks are -6.5 favorites makes me happy. Even if they’re at -7, I still like them. Take the Seahawks to handle the Vikings at home.
Pick: Seahawks -6.5
There you have it, folks! If I add more, which I’m sure I will, I’ll be tweeting them from my account on Twitter. Be sure to follow me @rnldluce and let’s make some money. Good luck!
