Beer Review: ArrowHead Ales Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Barricade
I’m here to review ArrowHead Ales Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Barricade!
Yo! It’s your boy Buzz and I had to come back with another beer review! I’m here to review ArrowHead Ales Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Barricade! It’s been a hot minute and it was time to write one up. I drove to ArrowHead Ale House which is in New Lenox, Illinois. It’s about ten seconds away from my house. I heard they had a new sour. I am a huge fan of sour beers so I had to try this.
After opening the can you are immediately surrounded by citrus and pineapple aroma, with a little bit of a tang to it. The beer pours a beautiful golden color with little head to it. Upon the first sip, you are greeted with a full pineapple taste mixed with hints of cherry and vanilla.
As the beer takes over your palette you get the hint of the sour it’s advertised to be. The taste of the beer is delicious, but as a sour fan, I wish it had a bit more tartness to it. I strongly recommend this beer for anyone that likes sweet flavors and sours though.
I bought a four pack of this and at 5.0% alcohol, I felt good by the time I got through the fourth one. So, next time you’re in New Lenox, hit me up on Twitter (@BuzzOnTap) and stop by ArrowHead to pick up one of their many delicious beers!
