The New York Jets have been shopping Le’Veon Bell around the league for several weeks now and have not been able to find a trade partner. So, in an odd move today, they cut Bell and he is now free to sign with another team immediately.
Shortly after the news broke from Adam Schefter, Bell posted this on his Twitter account:
It appears that Bell is happy to be out of the Jets’ situation and he’s now free to sign wherever he wants, assuming someone wants to take him.

In 17 games with the Jets, Bell could not crack the 1,000 yards rushing mark and only scored three touchdowns, none of which came this year. Knowing well how his attitude and history precedes him, it will be interesting to see if any team takes a chance on him.
As for the Jets’ backfield, Frank Gore looks to take over the lead-back role followed by La’Mical Perine. Gore should already be heavily rostered in most fantasy leagues but Perine is a nice stash in deep leagues. Also, if an injury were to sideline the non-aging Gore, then Perine would see a large uptick in usage.
