News broke on Wednesday morning reporting that the Bears top receiver, Allen Robinson, has a concussion and his availability for Sunday’s game is in serious doubt.
The potential loss of Robinson makes the Bears’ chances against the New Orleans Saints look even worse. Robinson currently leads the Bears in just about every receiving category and his loss would require players such as Darnell Mooney, Anthony Miller, and Javon Wims in addition to tight ends Jimmy Graham and Cole Kmet to be leaned on more as well.
Robinson has 44 catches this season in only seven games. He also has 544 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season. After Robinson, Mooney and Graham are the next receiving leaders for the team.
Mooney has 21 catches this season, less than half of Robinson’s total, for 236 yards and a touchdown. As for Graham, he has 27 catches for 234 yards and four touchdowns.
The Bears are likely hoping Robinson can go Sunday, but if not, the less time he misses the better for this an offense that does not have another elite playmaker like Robinson.
