Bears Activate Germain Ifedi From the Reserve/COVID-19 List
Germain Ifedi was placed on the COVID-19 list due to contact with Jason Spriggs. The Bears activated the guard ahead of Sunday’s game against the Titans.
After tackle Jason Spriggs tested positive for COVID-19, the Chicago Bears placed Germain Ifedi on the reserve/COVID-19 list as well because of contact tracing. On Friday, the Bears activated Ifedi in advance of Sunday’s game against the Titans.
This news comes at a good time. The Bears have been brutally injured on the offensive line this season, as James Daniels, Cody Whitehair, and Bobby Massie — all starters — are currently out. Additionally, Spriggs is on the COVID-19 list, and backup center Sam Mustipher may also miss Sunday’s game.
Ifedi’s return ensures that at least two opening game starters are in the lineup against the Titans. The Titans tout a bad defense, but if Nick Foles can’t get any meaningful protection, then Sunday could be ugly for the Bears.
