NFL DFS Week 9: Locks, Values, and the #CrackUm Player of the Week

A spread of DFS picks for the NFL Week 9 main slate.

With another week of NFL action in the books, we focus on the upcoming Week 9 slate. Dalvin Cook carried plenty of people to some money last week. So, who will do that this week? This week’s CrackUm player has a great matchup that you should be looking to stack. Good luck to everyone on this Sunday main slate.

Lock: Josh Allen (FD:$8.2K/DK:$7.0K) – This is the best matchup you can have all week for a quarterback. He should be able to get back to his numbers from the start of the season in this matchup against the Seahawks. Over the last few weeks, the numbers have been down for him but this week he matches up against one of the worst pass defenses. This is a game that you can easily stack him and other players from.

Value: Drew Lock (FD:$7.2K/DK:$5.2K) – Do you know which defense is just as bad as the Seahawks? Yes, the Falcons. Last week was Lock’s best game yet this season. He will be able to ride the hot hand against another poor pass defense. The value is easy in this game.

Running Back

Lock: James Conner (FD:$8.2K/DK:$6.9K) – This couldn’t be any more of a lock. Conner is going up against the Cowboys, who tout the worst rush defense in the league right now. Conner has been consistent all year except for one game at the start of the season. The Steelers will be able to easily control this game with the rushing attack. Conner might not be the only one to put up numbers in the backfield.

Value: Chase Edmonds (FD:$6.7K/DK:$6.8K) – It looks as if Edmonds will be the primary running back for the Cardinals this week. In the Cardinals’ high-powered offense, he’s a dual-threat player as a runner and pass-catcher, making this a perfect spot for value. Expect him to see 20-plus touches totaling 110 yards and a touchdown.

Lock: Terry McLaurin (FD:$7.2K/DK:$6.5K) – With the number of targets that McLaurin has seen over the last several weeks, he’s turning into a star. The big news for him this week was being voted by his teammates as a captain for the team. The only issue that has held him back so far this year is a lack of touchdowns, but I’d expect him to score in this game. Against the Giants defense that is in the bottom half the league against the passing game, the numbers will be there. McLaurin should log ten catches, 95 yards, and a touchdown.

Value: Darnell Mooney (FD:$5.5K/DK:$3.9K) – The rookie is becoming a big playmaker for the Bears. In this game against the Titans, the Bears will most likely be playing from behind and will look to stretch the field with his speed. At this price, his value is easy to obtain. Mooney should be able to haul in five catches, 40 yards, and a touchdown on Sunday.

Tight End

Lock: Travis Kelce (FD:$8.0K/DK:$7.2K) – There is no tight end safer to have in a lineup than Travis Kelce. The only downside is that the Panthers have been defending the pass well this season. However, this game has high-scoring potential written all over it. Mahomes will be looking for his number one target in Kelce frequently. He has the chance to end this game with nine catches for over 100 yards.

Value: Jonnu Smith (FD:$5.7K/DK:$3.9K) – In addition to Derrick Henry, who will destroy the Bears defense this week? The answer is Jonnu Smith. The Bears have been pretty good at defending the wide receivers all season, but they will have issues covering everyone. This should give Smith the chance to most likely match up one-on-one with a linebacker. Expect a touchdown for him in this game.

Stefon Diggs (FD:$7.6K/DK:$7.4K) – The QB and WR stack is here! The Seahawks are going to have issues stopping Diggs in this game. They are dead last against the position this season. How he is not higher priced this week is insane. He is easily Josh Allen’s number one target. This game will be similar to the earlier season game against the Dolphins from a numbers standpoint. Diggs should end the day with nine catches, 130 yards, and at least one touchdown.
