The Chicago Bears currently have a situation on their hands. The team made multiple roster moves this week to compensate for players testing positive for COVID-19. Now another player is added to the list.
Losing Deon Bush alone is tough, but this is getting pretty ridiculous. Bears fans want to see their team play all their games on the schedule, but is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking? Does the NFL care about the health and safety of its players at all?
Rewind a few weeks. The Titans were in a very similar situation and the NFL moved mountains to keep the 17-week schedule intact and accommodate them. Now that the Bears are on the shorter end of the stick and the Titans have already used their mulligan, the Bears get screwed. It’s possible the game is moved back, but at this point, it’s hard to believe the NFL cares about anything but cold hard cash. Having a player moved onto the COVID-19 list at 10 PM on the Saturday night before a game just seems sketchy.
As for the Bears’ safety depth, they’ll be okay. Deon Bush is a preferred rotational piece, but the Bears managed with DeAndre Houston-Carson while Bush dealt with a hamstring issue earlier in the year.
