The Dallas Mavericks have emerged as one of the teams interested in acquiring Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine.
It’s no secret amongst Bulls fans that Zach LaVine’s days in Chicago may be numbered. During his time in the league, LaVine has been on two teams that were going through rebuilds and has yet to make the playoffs in his career. This possibility may give him the chance to go to an NBA playoff team and pair up with one of the leagues most exciting players in Luka Doncic.
Surely if this trade were to go through, the 18th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft would have to be included by the Mavericks. To match salary, the Bulls could ask for Tim Hardaway Jr., and possibly throw in Jalen Brunson as another piece, along with the 18th pick. The Mavericks get a guard that can create his own shot and take pressure off of Luka, and the Bulls get another first round pick and a veteran shooting guard on an expiring contract in Hardaway Jr.
As reported, there are many teams interested in LaVine’s services, but hopefully ArtÅ«ras KarniÅ¡ovas and Marc Eversley make the right move and get the most bang for their buck. At this time, LaVine’s value has never been higher coming off a career-best season and arguably an All-Star snub.
