Cubs’ Theo Epstein Steps Down as President of Baseball Operations
Theo Epstein has stepped down as Cubs President of Baseball Operations.
Cubs’ President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein has stepped down from his role, effective November 20.
Jed Hoyer will be named to the role, according to The Athletic’s Sahadev Sharma.
This comes as shocking news for Cubs fans as Epstein had one more season under contract with the Cubs.
On Tap writer Brian Mischler recently wrote about Epstein and how he’s already set the stage for Cubs future moving forward.
After taking over the lead of Cubs baseball operations in the winter following the 2011 season, the Cubs are 705-651 since Epstein took over.
The Cubs have also made three NLCS appearances, won the NL Central three times, and won the 2016 World Series, breaking the Cubs’ infamous curse.
