REPORT: Bulls Discussing Wendell Carter Jr. and the 4th Pick to Golden State

Reports indicate that the Bulls are actively engaged in trade talks with Golden State centered around the fourth overall pick.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Chicago Bulls are actively engaged in trade talks with the Golden State Warriors centered around the fourth overall pick. That’s not the only piece included though. Bulls’ big man Wendell Carter Jr. is also being discussed as part of this package.

This is exactly the move Golden State would want to make. They’ve been rumored to have interest in potential top-three pick James Wiseman for a while now in addition to wanting to trade out of the pick as well. This potential trade obviously would give them the best of both worlds. Golden State would get a rim-protector and three-year vet in Wendell Carter Jr. and a big that can step out and shoot the rock a bit.

Now, if the Bulls were to engage in this trade, they would likely have a particular draft prospect in mind. That’s LaMelo Ball. Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley have been rumored to be in the hunt for a playmaker to help initiate the offense that Bulls’ new head coach Billy Donovan wants to run. LaMelo Ball is arguably the best playmaker in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Bulls also have Daniel Gafford who can possibly step in at the center position and fill the void that Carter Jr.’s departure would create if this potential trade goes through. Veteran Thaddeus Young and Luke Kornet are still on the roster as well to complete the big man rotation if need be.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled because it’s NBA Draft Day and the Hot Stove is on FIRE!
