Norvell, Chicago born and raised, attended Simeon High School on Chicago’s Southside. He attended Gonzaga from 2017 to 2019 before going undrafted in last year’s draft. He was signed on a two-way contract by the Lakers, but in December he was waived. In February he was signed to a 10-day contract with the Warriors.
He had 5 cumulative games at the NBA level, but had 36 games with the G-League affiliates of the Lakers and Warriors. During his minimal NBA experience, he averaged 2.0 PPG, 1.2 RPG, and 0.6 APG. His G-League Stats were 14.7 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 2.9 APG while shooting 38% from three-point range.
While the Bulls are over the 15 player max regular season roster limit, they continue to add players. They’re allowed to carry up to 20 players through training camp, which explains the overage. Usually this allows more guys a good look at making the team before sending them to the G-League or cutting them as part of their typical two-way contract.
