The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Zach Norvell Jr. and forward Simi Shittu after the conclusion of their preseason slate last night.
Norvell Jr. appeared in all four preseason games for the Bulls and averaged three points per game while shooting 29.4% from the field in ten minutes of play. Norvell Jr. always faced an uphill battle to make the roster as the Bulls already have plenty of guards in place.
Shittu appeared in three preseason games, averaging 5.7 points per game and 3.3 rebounds per game in eight minutes of play. Most of Shittu’s playing time occurred in garbage time when all starters were already done for the game. Despite his strong play in limited time, there just was not enough room on the roster to warrant keeping him.
Both of their contracts were non-guaranteed. With the Bulls already having 15 guaranteed contracts, it was only a matter of time until they were waived.
