The Chicago Bulls suffered a possibly significant blow Sunday night against the Golden State Warriors as Lauri Markkanen left the game with an apparent ankle injury. Markkanen’s leg got caught on Wendell Carter Jr.’s as he went around a screen, and he left the game shortly after.
The Finnish forward was enjoying another quality game to begin his 2020-21 season, as he notched 23 points in 29 minutes before heading to the locker room. Markkanen is averaging 20 points and nearly eight rebounds per game in the early stages of the season and has been one of the Bulls’ only bright spots during an 0-3 start to the campaign.
Bulls fans everywhere now collectively hold their breath hoping Markkanen is okay. No further details are currently available, but we will keep you updated as more information comes to light.
