The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a one-year, $2 million deal with reliever Evan Marshall to avoid arbitration.
Marshall was one of the most effective relievers on the White Sox and perhaps in the league during the shortened 2020 season. He ranked in the 100th percentile in barrel percentage and 97th percentile in xwOBA with a 2.38 ERA and sported one of the best changeups in baseball.
Locking up Marshall is an important step toward anchoring the bullpen in 2021. Now, the White Sox need to focus on signing a closer.
