Right around midday on Week 17 of the NFL season, FanDuel users got a rude awakening when they couldn’t place their bets on one of the biggest football Sundays. Not only does today’s NFL slate include high-stakes matchups such as Chicago vs. Green Bay, but there is also a plethora of NBA and college basketball games all day.
FanDuel provided an official announcement via their Twitter account to address the issue in Illinois:
Around 11 AM CT, it seemed as though the issue was Illinois-specific. Since then, complaints have flooded in from other areas of the country and issues continue to persist, according to DownDetector.
The error message claims that planned maintenance is taking place for the next six hours.
Bettors were clearly not happy:
FanDuel users were able to put money into their accounts for their bets but were unable to place a bet or withdraw any of it after realizing the site was down. Hopefully FanDuel will refund users and fix the ongoing issues before today’s NFL games finish.
There is currently no timetable regarding the resolvement of the issues.
