Northwestern, Pat Fitzgerald Ink 10-Year Deal

The Northwestern Wildcats and Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald have agreed on a 10-year contract, keeping Fitzgerald in Evanston through 2030.

The rumors of Head Coach of the Northwestern Wildcats, Pat Fitzgerald, going to the NFL have been quelled. Per Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, Fitzgerald has agreed to a new, 10-year contract through 2030 with Northwestern.

The Wildcats went 7-2 and finished 14th in the final College Football Playoff rankings, after defeating the Auburn Tigers in the VRBO Citrus Bowl on January 1, 2021. Northwestern made it to the Big Ten Championship, but lost to Ohio State 22–10.

In 15 seasons as Northwestern’s head coach, Fitzgerald is 106-81 with 10 trips to a bowl game. Northwestern has locked in Fitzgerald to be a lifer with the university as head coach.
