Blackhawks Cancel Practice Due to Potential COVID Exposure

The Blackhawks canceled Saturday’s practice “out of an abundance of caution due to potential exposure of COVID-19.”

The Chicago Blackhawks were supposed to practice at Fifth Third Arena this afternoon to make adjustments after their 2-1 loss to the Blue Jackets on Friday night. Those plans were put on hold, however, as the organization canceled practice “out of an abundance of caution due to potential exposure of COVID-19.”

Three Blackhawks players currently find themselves on the NHL’s COVID Protocol list. Forwards Alex DeBrincat, Lucas Wallmark, and defenseman Adam Boqvist have all missed the team’s past three games due to their placement within the protocol.

The NHL will provide their daily memo regarding COVID-19 protocol at 4 PM CT this afternoon. That’s when the public will find out if any new Blackhawks or Blue Jackets players are added to the list.

As things currently stand, the Hawks vs. Jackets weekend series finale is still scheduled for Sunday night at 6 PM CT.
