Who will hoist the Lombardi Trophy tonight? Super Bowl LV Sunday is finally upon us. Will Tom Brady win a record shattering 7th Lombardi trophy, or will last year’s Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes win his 2nd ring before he loses his 10th start? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at home in the biggest game as they face off against the defending Super Bowl champs, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Both teams are coming off impressive wins against red-hot teams in their respective conference championship games. The Chiefs defeated Josh Allen and the Bills at home, and the Bucs took down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at Lambeau field.
Although the Chiefs did not look as dominant as they did last year, they still managed to hold onto the best record in the league this season. For the Bucs, they have looked lackluster at times throughout the season, but dominant in the playoffs, and finished second in their division.
Here are some of the bets I love for today’s game.
Bucs/Chiefs O/U 56
Mahomes is a nightmare to contain outside of the pocket. With one of the best rush defenses in football, the Bucs blitz the QB at a high clip. If the Bucs decide to blitz a lot, it can be disastrous for them, as Mahomes is arguably the best at avoiding the blitz and turning it into a massive play.
Mahomes is elite at reading defenses, but the speed of the Bucs defense can also come into play, as the Chiefs are without two of their best offensive linemen. I think missing two of the best linemen on the Chiefs will help the Bucs stay home and defend the pass. The over/under, went from 57.5 earlier this week, down to 56 as of Super Bowl Sunday. I think we see the under hit.
Pick: Bucs/Chiefs Under 56
Bucs/Chiefs Spread and ML
You can’t argue against the fact that Brady is the greatest of all time. He gets to the Super Bowl for the first time without one of the greatest coaches of all time, Bill Belichick, in a new city. Brady joins one of the hottest offenses in football, bringing along his favorite Super Bowl winning target, Rob Gronkowski.
Brady standing tall with time in the pocket can be a nightmare for the Chiefs defense, especially if they get Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette going in the run game. I think Brady’s experience, his weapons on offense, and speed of the Bucs defense can be enough to get Brady his seventh Super Bowl ring. The spread opened at -3.5 at the beginning of the week, and now stands at -3. I think Brady gets it done. I am hammering Buccaneers +3 and I am taking the money line as well.
Pick: Bucs +3 and Bucs ML
