The Summary

The Bulls won a huge bounce-back game after Monday’s loss. The game was a shooter’s contest at the United Center on Wednesday night. The Bulls set team records for most three’s made in a half, and a game, with 14 and 25, respectively. This was also the sixth time in franchise history the Bulls made 20+ three’s (as well as fourth time this season) and the seventh time they had 30+ assists in a game. It was a perfect storm for the Bulls’ offense.

A hot first quarter put the Bulls out front early, racking up a season-high 44 points. However, a quiet second quarter from the Bulls, and a hot quarter from the Pelicans, sent the Bulls down eight at the half. The Bulls came out swinging though, having a 17-2 run to start the third quarter and propelled the Bulls out front, ultimately coasting to their 129-116 win.

Zion Williamson paced the Pelicans in scoring on Wednesday night, dropping 29 points on 12-18 shooting. Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball also had great games, with both players adding 21 points each.

However, the best stat of the night came from the Bulls’ backcourt. Zach LaVine and Coby White were the first pair of teammates ever to hit more than eight three’s in a single game. Splash Brothers who?

The Set Up

The Bulls entered Wednesday’s game after a tough loss to the lowley Wizards on Monday night. Without Russell Westbrook, the Wizards were led by Bradley Beal and his 35 points to a 105-101 victory.

Despite the tough loss, Zach LaVine added 35 points of his own to pace the Bulls. He is continuing to show he is worthy of an All-Star nod in 2021.

Despite the tough loss, the Bulls beat the Magic in the second game of their two-game set on Saturday, 118-92, setting up a chance for the Bulls to win two of their last three on Wednesday.

Hey Now, You’re an All-Star

Zach LaVine is undoubtedly punched his ticket to the All-Star game after his performance in this one. LaVine scored a season-high 46 points, pacing all players in the contest. LaVine added seven rebounds, four assists, and a steal on 17-25 shooting for the night, 9-14 from three-point land.

LaVine looked confident early for the Bulls, dropping 20 points in the first quarter alone. He was also 5-5 from three. If the league had doubts about LaVine being an All-Star, tonight’s performance lightened those doubts.

Shooters Shoot

The Bulls were a fantastic shooting team tonight. A franchise record 25 three pointers, along with the single half record of 14, ensured the Bulls would win tonight’s game. What was more impressive was the great play without players such as Otto Porter Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Wendell Carter Jr., and Chandler Hutchison. The Bulls roster and coaching staff should be proud of their performance tonight.

Coby White Has Returned

Coby White is back, at least for tonight. After his recent struggles, White dropped 30 points, accompanied by seven assists and two boards, to bring himself back to life. He and Zach LaVine carried the Bulls, combining for 76 points. It’s safe to say if White continues to play like this, or even close to the way he did tonight, the Bulls will win many games in the coming weeks.
