Just hours before the Bulls tip-off against the Pacers, Chicago head coach Billy Donovan announced that big man Wendell Carter Jr. will play for the first time since January 18th after sitting out with a right quad contusion for nearly a month. Donovan noted that although Carter Jr. will not have a minutes restriction, he probably will not play much.
This news comes at a needed time for the Bulls. Daniel Gafford has stepped into the starting lineup with mixed results, and the Bulls have been overmatched in the paint for the most part. While Carter Jr. has experienced some struggles defensively, he will still be an upgrade for the Bulls at the center position. As Carter Jr. works himself back into the mix, keep an eye on how his presence affects the rotation as Gafford may fall to limited to no minutes.
