Bulls’ Guard Zach LaVine Named to NBA All-Star Team

The Bulls finally have a representative back on the NBA All-Star team as Zach LaVine was named an Eastern Conference reserve.

As reported by Chicago Sun-Times writer Joe Cowley on the Bulls On Tap podcast and confirmed by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Zach LaVine is an NBA All-Star.

LaVine was snubbed from the squad last year before taking his game to another level this season. He’s averaging 28.5 PPG, 5.4 RPG, and 5.1 APG all while shooting an efficient 51.8% from the field, 43.4% from three, and 86.4% at the free-throw line. LaVine’s efforts have helped the Bulls into the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference and a record just two games under .500.

The NBA head coaches adding LaVine to the Eastern Conference All-Star mix exemplifies the respect that he has earned around the league. NBA All-Star weekend will finally feature a Bulls representative again after last year’s embarassment of no hometown player participating as Chicago played host to the event. Maybe some recruiting can take place this year and the Bulls will be able to pair another elite talent with their potential superstar in Zach LaVine.
