Patrick Kane’s career has been one giant, walking milestone. At just 32 years of age, one could argue that Kane is already the greatest Blackhawk of all-time. The skilled winger has won a regular-season MVP, a playoff MVP, Rookie of the Year, and three Stanley Cups. Last season, Kane became just the fourth Blackhawk to ever register 1,000 points. In tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, Kane added yet another milestone to his resume as he notched his 400th NHL goal.

Kane joins Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, and Steve Larmer as the only Blackhawk players to ever eclipse 400 goals. He also becomes the 100th player in NHL history to achieve this milestone. Kane is the tenth American to ever score 400 goals, joining former Blackhawks Jeremy Roenick and Tony Amonte.

For many, lighting the lamp for the 400th time would be the biggest goal of their career. However, when you have five career playoff overtime goals, a Stanley Cup-winning goal, and a playoff hat trick on your resume, it’s just another puck in the back of the net.

Given his age and showing no signs of slowing down, Kane is likely to continue climbing the ladder. The 500-goal milestone is beginning to seem like a sure thing for the Blackhawks winger. For now, Kane continues on one of the best seasons of his career as he helps carry a team into playoff contention that has no business being there. With captain Jonathan Toews likely out for the season, this is Patrick Kane’s team now and it couldn’t be in better hands.
