According to J. Michael of IndyStar.com, the Indiana Pacers recently called the Chicago Bulls to discuss a potential deal involving veteran guard/forward Garrett Temple. The Bulls were not interested in engaging in trade talks, however.
Temple has been playing an integral part of the Bulls rotation this year. The veteran is averaging 8.8 PPG, 2.0 APG, and 3.2 RPG while shooting 43% from the field and 35% from downtown so far this season.
Earlier this week, Bulls’ Vice President of Basketball Operations Artūras Karnišovas held a press conference and stated that the team’s goal is to compete for the playoffs this season. Moving Temple, a current starter who has played well this season, would undoubtedly hurt those chances. The NBA trade deadline takes place on March 25th, so until then it’s just a guessing game on who stays and who goes.
