REPORT: Cubs/White Sox to Have Fans in April, Possibly Opening Day

Fans in Chicago may be able to return to their favorite ballpark sooner than they think, as both sides of town may be able to host fans soon.

With baseball season around the corner, fans on both sides of town have wondered if Wrigley Field or Guaranteed Rate Field will be open to fans this season. As of Monday morning, not only does it sound like fans will be allowed, but Opening Day is a real possibility.

This is a big step for Chicago, as Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been one of the most conservative politicians when it comes to the re-opening of the city. For fans to be in the stands as early as April 1 is an encouraging sign for the return of “normalcy” to those in the Chicagoland area.

The reports aren’t confirmed, but even rumors are an encouraging sign for both Cubs and White Sox fans.
