Today Ryan Pace and the Chicago Bears saved over $23 million in salary cap space by restructuring a few contracts. Khalil Mack, Eddie Jackson, and Cody Whitehair are the three players involved in the contract changes, as outlined below.

This move is likely only the beginning of the plethora of decisions Ryan Pace has to make to get not just under the salary cap, but comfortably under the cap.

If the Bears have any shot at landing one of the previously rumored quarterbacks potentially on the market, then they’ll need to gain even more wiggle room. After moving on from Buster Skrine and Bobby Massie, there are likely additional cuts coming and possibly more contract restructures.
